The Telford Community Store is home to Shropshire Community Project (a Social Enterprise & Charity) that donates money from every item sold to local charities.
Shropshire Community Project donates any profit over and above costs which is split between Telford Crisis Support, Citizens Advice Bureau, Stay, YMCA, Age Uk and British Red Cross.
There is a large range of fantastic quality new beds and furniture as well as used furniture on sale at a very reasonable cost. You can purchase beds and furniture of the same quality as leading retailers with the added bonus of knowing that you are supporting local charities with every item you purchase.
Here is an example of what’s on offer:
Shropshire Community Project also has a successful volunteer programme which has helped 40+ people gain employment by giving them retail experience and teaching them skills such as customer service, furniture restoration etc.
There is a section of the store which sells second hand clothes, shoes, books, bric a brac etc at a very low cost. This section is purely from donations and 100% of the money raised from sales goes directly to the charities.
With parking right outside the store you can drop off your unwanted items here and they will be very gratefully received
Please note the Telford Food Bank is no longer at the Community Store, and has now moved to Leegomery Community Centre, just off Leegate Ave, TF1 6NA(the old youth club wing), which is next door to Telford & Wrekin CAFLS building and behind the SPAR.
Thrive operates a support drop in here on a Tuesday 10am-12 noon so if you or anyone you know is in need of some free advice & support please feel free to drop in. For more details about Thrive visit: www.inspire2thrive.co.uk
